The quality of the blur has come to be known as “bokeh”. Bokeh in terms of photography referring the area in the photo which are out of focus light to increase beautiful and dramatic image. The origin of the term is from the Japanese word “romaji” (english characters) is spelled “boke” (pronounced bo-keh) and which means “fuzzy”. For good Bokeh, ideally points and lines would blur smoothly as they fell out of focus, in the manner, for example, of a smooth Gaussian blurring.

Great Collection I like The kind of Art
Thanks a lot
I knew about depth of field, but this blur effect looks even more interesting. Some of those photos would have looked plain originally, but the effect adds a very nice touch to it.
I recently did a podcast episode on photography. It doesn’t use the blur effect, but a lot of the photos are amazing.

True art here… The photographers have skill! I would love to apply this effect to the food pictures I take for my website, but I think it would take a lot of work to capture images like these folks did. Awesome!
Oh… It’s stunning.
These are fabulous. I have just spent an hour reading a whole lot more on how to create bokeh with a digital camera. Seems not so effective….but I will be trying tomorrow to see what I can achieve. I have been trying without knowing what it is called with flowers….but hope to get the dots and colours if possible.
Many Thanks

I think every man can do photography but it is not job of each them to catch unique events of life like these photographs. To attain such standard age and full devotion is required that this photographer has.
“How the heck is pic #8 a bokeh photograph?”
Because, Ben, contrary to the popular vogue for bokeh shots that are ONLY balls of defocused lights in the background, a shot that has blur caused by a big aperture lens shot wide-open qualifies as one with bokeh.
I shoot almost exclusively these kind of lenses; f/1.2 to f/2 – for Nikon and medium-format digital cameras. Great background, then great subject placed on it: that’s what qualifies as a great ‘bokeh shot’ for me. It’s all a matter of taste of course, but I do get kinda sick of seeing people ‘wow’ over shots that look like the photographer has simply defocused the lens and shot some lights in the street or on the nearest christmas tree available.
Beautiful Pictures.Very Nice.Great job.
All photographs are good looking and attractive. Please guide us from which school you have got training.
I’m so in love with bokeh. Thanks for the collection although some of them are not really related to the topic

Like usual, someone writes as though they are an expert, however, the examples they give prove otherwise.
Bokeh and Forced Perspective (Narrow depth of Field) are two very different things. Hokey is when light in the background forms colored or white round discs of light.
Many of the examples are not Bokeh. Learn the the subtle differences before writing again. Your ignorance of styles is showing.
Amazing women. thx.
