One that I have used quite a bit is http://www.aboutpixel.de. Whilst the site is in German, it’s pretty easy to figure out how to register (no email activation) and search for images. And every single image has impeccable resolution for use in artwork.

If you guys haven’t, go have a look at Wylio. It’s a great resource to find images to use inside web publications and also offline.
I especially like the fact the service gives you a readily-available embed code with a link back to the original author of the image placed right inside the code.
Anyway, just for the sake of information, here is another good resource to find royalty free stock photos.

don’t forget to check out pixmac.com with over 40,000 free images as well as 11 million budget images – and one of the best user interfaces out there. i love free images but if it takes me an hour to find them – how free is that?

However what I have noticed is that most of these sites only offer small resolution images for free where as high resolution ones need to be paid.
Being a mean person who is in the look for free bargains I am always in the look out for great sites which allow you to download high resolution images for free.
And guess what, I have stumbled upon one of them recently. its named – highresolutionfreeimages.com. It is a very new site and provides all its images for free.
I am glad I found it and wish you to add it to your list if possible. your list might already have some good ones anyways. I will explore more and get back.

Thanks for the resources. Can I suggest 123rf.com? I’ve been using this image providers for quite some time. I like the varieties of images and their pricing. Not only that, I noticed that their pricing is really affordable for freelancers as compared to others.

A nice list, thanks.. I use a few on here already. One that I used that was not here is editablephotos.com. There free collection contains only high resolution images so that’s GREAT, it is a decent size gallery.
