Password hacking is the process of recovering secret passwords from data that has been stored in or transmitted by a computer system. A common approach is to repeatedly try guesses for the password. Most passwords can be hacked by hashing, guessing, phishing or brute force techniques.

A series of hacks to popular sites like LinkedIn, Yahoo!, eHarmony and has revealed the startlingly easy passwords we all use. The numbers say you’re not the only one. Of the 442,773 total passwords hacked from Yahoo!, close to a quarter were used by more than one person.

If there’s one thing that these hacks have taught us in the past week, it’s that people are really bad at picking secure passwords. In most of the cases it found that a single password used for many sites. You may find this strange that people still creating their password with words like “password,” “123,” or “qwerty”?
