How to Create a Cool Skate in Illustrator
Doing anything in Adobe Illustrator really does take two times longer as it can be a little tricky to get your hands around. Because of more steps, hidden features, and a long list of tools it is really strange at first hand.
In the following tutorial you will learn how to create a very cool Skate illustration in Adobe Illustrator. First, you’ll learn how to create pixel perfect shapes using the Pen or the Ellipse Tools. Next, you’ll see how you can add depth and shading for your shapes using complex gradients, the Pathfinder options and some basic blending techniques… Let’s start!

Create a Cool Skate in Illustrator
Step 01: Create the Body of the Boot
1. Pick the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create an object as shown in the image.
2. Pick the Add Anchor Point tool (+). Use this tool to add three anchor points highlighted with red and then move them as shown below.
3. Now use the Convert Anchor Point tool (Shift +C) to adjust anchor points as shown below.
4. Fill the result with R=35, G=31, B=32.
5. Create two curves and then set the data as shown below.
6. Reselect two newly created curves and go to the Object/ Blend/ Blend Options. Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Next go to the Object/ Blend/ Make (Ctrl +Alt +B). Next open the Transparency palette (Window/ Transparency), select the Overlay in the Blending Mode and lowered the Opacity to 50%.
7. Create two curves and then set the data as shown below.
8. Reselect two newly created curves and go to the Object/ Blend/ Blend Options. Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Next go to the Object/ Blend/ Make (Ctrl +Alt +B). Next open the Transparency palette (Window/ Transparency), select the Overlay in the Blending Mode and lowered the Opacity to 20%.
9. Now we’ll hide two unwanted parts highlighted with arrows.
10. Select the object created in the step 4 and then duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. Next bring the copy to front (Ctrl +Shift +Right Square Bracket).
11. While the result selected, hold down the Shift and select two newly created blended objects and then go to the Object/ Clipping Mask/ Make (Ctrl +7).
12. Reselect the object created in the step 4 and then go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 3px Offset and then click OK. Next fill the result with none and then add a 1px Stroke (Blue color).
13. Adjust the newly created object to get the result as shown below.
14. Pick the Pen tool (P) and then use it to create two objects as shown below. Next reselect and duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) the smaller blue object once time and then hide the copy (Ctrl +3).
15. Now select two blue objects, open the Pathfinder palette (Window/ Pathfinder) and then click on the Minus Front button. Next fill the result with the radial gradient.
16. Press (Ctrl +Alt +3) to show the object hidden in the previous step. Next select the yellow object and duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time and then hide the copy (Ctrl +3). Reselect the blue object and the yellow object and then click on the Minus Back button from the Pathfinder palette.
17. Show the object hidden in the previous step and then set the data as shown below.
18. Pick the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create a curve and then set the data as shown in the image.
19. Keep working with the Pen tool (P) and then set the data as shown in the images below.
20. Use the Pen tool (P) to create a curve as shown below. Next add a 4px Stroke (apply gradient within stroke) for the curve.
21. Duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) the newly created curve. Next add a new stroke for the copy, make it 2px wide, and replace the existing color with the new linear gradient (apply gradient within stroke).
22. Create an object and then fill it with the radial gradient.
23. Reselect the newly created object and then duplicate it once time. Next fill the copy with R=35, G=31, B=32.
24, Reselect the newly created object and then go to the Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow. Enter the data as shown in the below and then click OK. Finally send the result backward (press Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
Step 02: Create the Cuff
25. Pick the Pen tool (P) and use this tool to create an object as shown below.
26. Fill the object with the linear gradient.
27. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 2px Offset and then click OK. Next change the existing color of the result with the new linear gradient.
28. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow…Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Finally send the result backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) and then move it 2px to the right.
29. Pick the Pen tool (P) and then use this tool to create an object as shown below.
30. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 2px Offset and then click OK. Move the newly created object 4px to the right and then adjust it a bit to get the result as shown below. Next send the result backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
31. Fill two newly created objects with the linear gradient.
32. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow…Enter the data as shown below and then click OK.
Step 03: Create the Cuff Screw
33. Pick the Ellipse tool (L) and create a 38px by 48px object. Next rotate this object an angle of about 20 degrees. Place the result to the correct position as shown in the first image and then fill it with R=0, G=0, B=0.
34. Reselect the ellipse object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -2px Offset and then click OK. Replace the existing color with the linear gradient.
35. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -2px Offset and then click OK. Replace the existing color with new linear gradient.
36. Reselect the black ellipse and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 2px Offset and then click OK. Replace the existing color with R=209, G=211, B=212. Next go to the Effect/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur…Enter a 6 pixel Radius and then click OK. Finally send the result backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
37. Pick the Pen tool (P) and use this tool to create an object as shown in the first image. Next fill the object with the linear gradient.
38. Continue working with the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create objects as shown below.
39. Fill the green object with the linear gradient. Next add the Drop Shadow effect for this object (Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow).
40. Fill the pink object with the linear gradient.
41. Reselect two newly created objects and then press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) many times to get the result as shown below.
42. Pick the Pen tool (P) and then use this tool to create three objects as shown below.
43. Fill the green object with the linear gradient. Next add the Drop Shadow effect for this object (Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow).
44. Fill two red objects as shown below.
45. Continue working with the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create a curve and then set the data as shown in the second image.
46. Reselect three newly created objects and then press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) many times to get the result as shown below.
47. Pick the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create an object as shown below.
48. Fill the object with the linear gradient and add a 3px stroke (R=109, G=110, B=113).
49. Reselect the newly created object and duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. While the result selected, go to the Effect/ Texture/ Patchwork…Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Next open the Transparency palette (Window/ Transparency), select the Lighten in the Blending Mode and lowered the Opacity to 50%.
50. Use the Pen tool (P) to create a curve and then set the data as shown in the images below.
51. Now select three newly created objects and then press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) many times to get the result as shown in the second image below.
52. Use the Pen tool (P) to create an object and then fill it with R=35, G=31, B=32. Next send the result to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
53. Continue working with the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create an object as shown in the first image. Next reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path. Enter a -4px Offset and then click OK.
54. Fill the smaller object with R=65, G=64, B=66 and then fill the remaining object with R=35, G=31, B=32.
55. Reselect two newly created objects and go to the Object/ Blend/ Blend Options. Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Next go to the Object/ Blend/ Make (Ctrl +Alt +B).
56. While the result selected, go to the Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow. Enter the data as shown below and then click OK.
57. Use the Pen tool (P) to create a curve as shown in the first image. Next reselect the curve, duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time and then hide the copy (Ctrl +3). Reselect the remaining curve and go to the Object/ Transform/ Move. Enter a -24px in the Horizontal box and a 4px in the Vertical box and then click Copy.
58. Select two anchor points highlighted with green and then click on the “Cut path at selected anchor points” button from the Properties bar.
59. Now we have four curves. Select two start anchor points of two longer curves and then click on the “Connect selected end points” button from the Properties bar. Next select two end anchor points and then click on the “Connect selected end points” button.
60. Fill the bigger object with the linear gradient.
61. Press (Ctrl +Alt +3) to show the curve hidden in the previous step. Next add a 2px Stroke (R=51, G=165, B=177) for the curve.
62. Now select the bigger object and the curve and then press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) many times to get the result as shown in the first image. Next select the small object and then fill it with R=4, G=46, B=53. Finally send this object to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
63. Reselect the bigger object and add the Drop Shadow effect (Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow) for it.
Step 04: Create the Buckle
64. Use the Ellipse tool (L) to create a 126px by 56px object and then use the Rectangle tool (M) to create a 28px by 56px object. Next place two objects as shown in the first image. Switch to the Ellipse tool (L), use it to create a 90px by 40px object. Next place the newly created object to the correct position as shown in the second image.
65. Pick the Rounded Rectangle tool and then click on the anywhere at the document. Enter a 80px in the Width box, a 18px in the Height box and a 12px in the Corner Radius box and then click OK. Next place the result to the correct position as shown below.
66. Now select two ellipses, open the Pathfinder palette (Window/ Pathfinder) and then click on the Unite button.
67. Reselect the newly created object and then duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. While the copy selected, hold down the Shift, click on the rectangle object and then click on the Intersect button from the Pathfinder palette.
68. While the result selected, hold down the Shift, click on the pink object and then click on the Unite button from the Pathfinder palette.
69. Duplicate the result once time. While the copy selected, hold down the Shift, click on the bigger object and then click on the Minus Front button from the Pathfinder palette. Next ungroup (Ctrl +Shift +G) and then remove objects as shown in the second image.
70. Reselect the smaller object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -1px Offset and then click OK. Next remove the object selected in the beginning of this step.
71. Reselect the object created in the step 69 and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a –2px Offset and then click OK.
72. Select the anchor point highlighted with red and then move it 10px to the right.
73. Reselect the object just edited and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -2px Offset and then click OK.
74. Fill objects as shown in the images below.
75. Reselect the object just filled and then duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. Replace the existing color with the new linear gradient. Next lowered the Opacity of this object to 50%.
76. Fill the remaining object with the linear gradient. Next duplicate it once time, replace the existing color of the copy with R=0, G=0, B=0 and then move it 1px to the left. Finally send it backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
77. Pick the Ellipse tool (L). Use this tool to create a 40px by 52px object. Next fill the object with the linear gradient.
78. Reselect the result and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -2px Offset and then click OK. Next change the existing color of the result with the new linear gradient.
79. Reselect two newly created objects and then send them to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
80. Select and group (Ctrl + G) all objects created from beginning step 64 to this time. Next place the group to the correct position as shown below.
81. Reselect the newly created group and add the Drop Shadow effect (Effect/ Stylize/ Drop Shadow) for it.
82. Now pick the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create objects and then set the data as shown in the images below.
83. Keep working with the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create an object as shown in the first image. Next fill it with the linear gradient and then send the result to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
84. Continue create objects and then fill them as shown in the images below.
85. In the end your shape should look roughly like the image below.
86. Pick the Rectangle tool (M). Use this tool to create a 60px by 190px object.
87. Pick the Add Anchor Point tool (+) and then use this tool to add three anchor points highlighted in the first image. Next select and move anchor points highlighted in the second image.
88. Now select five anchor points highlighted with green and then click on the “Convert selected anchor points to smooth” button from the Properties bar.
89. Fill the result with the linear gradient.
90. Reselect and then duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) the newly created object once time. Fill the copy with none and add a 4px Stroke (apply gradient across stroke).
91. Reselect the newly created object and then duplicate it once time. Next set the data for the copy as shown in the image below.
92. While the result selected, go to the Effect/ Texture/ Grain…Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Next open the Transparency palette (Window/ Transparency) and select the Overlay in the Blending Mode.
93. Reselect the newly created object and then go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -1px Offset and then click OK. Next remove the Grain effect and then replace the existing color with the new linear gradient.
94. Now select two bottom anchor points and remove them. Next add an anchor point and then adjust handles of three bottom anchor points to get the result as shown in the second image.
95. Use the Rectangle (M) to create a 30px by 10px object. Place the object to position as shown below. Next duplicate the object once time and then hide the copy (Ctrl +3).
96. Reselect two newly created objects, open the Pathfinder palette (Window/ Pathfinder) and then click on the Minus Front button.
97. While the result selected, go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 2px Offset and then click OK. Fill the result with R=5, G=1, B=2 and then send it backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
98. Press (Ctrl +Alt +3) to show the object hidden in the previous step. Next set the data as shown below for this object.
99. Select and group (Ctrl + G) all objects created from beginning step 86 to this time. Next rotate the group an angle of about –53 degrees. Place the group to the correct position as shown below. Finally press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) many times to get the result as shown in the image below.
100. Now pick the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create an object as shown below.
101. Fill the object with the linear gradient.
102. Continue create an object as shown below.
103. Add a 5px Stroke (R=188, G=190, B=192) for the object.
104. Reselect the newly created object and then duplicate it once time. Next replace the existing color of the copy to R=65, G=64, B=66. Finally move the copy 1px down and then send it backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
105. Select two newly created objects and then press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) many times to get the result as shown below.
106. Pick the Rectangle tool (M). Use this tool to create a 21px by 18px object. Next add an anchor point highlighted in the second image, move it 2px down and then click on the “ Convert selected anchor points to smooth” button from the Properties bar.
107. Fill the newly created object with the linear gradient.
108. Create a green object and then set the data as shown in the images below.
109. Select and group (Ctrl + G) two newly created objects. Next rotate the group an angle of about –53 degrees. Finally place the group to the correct position as shown below.
110. Do the same as the previous steps to get the result as shown below.
111. Use the Pen tool (P) to create a curve as shown in the image.
112. Set the data as shown below for the curve. Next press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) many time to get the result as shown in the image below.
113. Do the same as the previous step to get the result as shown in the second image below.
114. Open the Character palette (Window/ Type/ Character) and then set the data as shown below. Next pick the Type tool (T) and use this tool to create texts: “X”, “-“ and “SKATE”.
115. Rotate the text “-“ an angle of about -15 degrees and rotate the text “SKATE” an angle of about -40 degrees. Next reselect three texts and go to the Object/ Expand Appearance. Finally place three texts to the correct positions as shown below.
116. Use the Pen tool (P) to create an object as shown below. Next fill this object with R=0, G=0, B=0.
117. Reselect four newly created objects and add a 2px Stroke (R=128, G=130, B=133) for them.
118. While results selected, open the Transparency palette (Window/ Transparency) and select the Overlay in the Blending Mode.
119. In the end your shape should look like the image shown.
Step 05: Create the Frame
120. Create an object and then fill it with the linear gradient as shown in the images below.
121. Continue use the Pen tool (P) to create an object as shown below.
122. Fill the newly created object with the linear gradient.
123. Reselect the object created in the step 120 and then duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. Next bring the copy forward (Ctrl +Right Square Bracket). Finally add the Drop Shadow effect for the copy.
124. Select the object created in the step 122 and then duplicate it once time. Next bring the copy to front (Ctrl +Shift +Right Square Bracket).
125. Select two newly created objects and go to the Object/ Clipping Mask/ Make (Ctrl +7).
126. Pick the Ellipse tool (L). Use this tool to create a 21px by 21px object. Next fill the object with the radial gradient.
127. Reselect the ellipse and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -1.5px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the linear gradient.
128. Reselect the newly created ellipse and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -1px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the radial gradient.
129. Reselect the newly created ellipse and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -4px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the linear gradient.
130. Reselect the newly created ellipse and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -1px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the radial gradient.
131. Now select and group (Ctrl +G) all objects created from beginning step 126 to this time. Next duplicate this group once time. Finally place two newly created groups to the correct positions as shown below.
132. Pick the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create an object as shown below.
133. Fill the object with R=35, G=31, B=32 and add a 3px Stroke (R=0, G=0, B=0).
134. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -10px Offset and then click OK. Next fill the result with R=35, G=31, B=32 (Stroke =none).
135. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -10px Offset and then click OK. Next fill the result with R=0, G=0, B=0. Now select and group (Ctrl +G) all objects created from beginning step 132 to this time.
Step 06: Create the Wheels
136. Pick the Ellipse tool (L). Use this tool to create a 130px by 130px object.
137. Fill the ellipse with the radial gradient.
138. Reselect the ellipse and duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. Next replace the existing color of the copy with the new radial gradient.
139. Reselect the newly created ellipse and duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. Next replace the existing color of the copy with the new radial gradient.
140. Reselect the newly created ellipse and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -4px Offset and then click OK.
141. While the result selected, go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -3px Offset and then click OK. Next duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) the result once time and then hide (Ctrl +3) the copy.
142. Now open the Pathfinder palette (Window/ Pathfinder). Next reselect two newly created objects and then click on the Minus Front button from the Pathfinder palette.
143. Fill the result with the linear gradient.
144. Reselect the newly created object and press (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket) twice times to get the result as shown below.
145. Press (Ctrl +Shift +3) to show the object hidden in the previous step. Next fill the object with none and then add a 1px Stroke (apply gradient within stroke).
146. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -6px Offset and then click OK. Next place the existing of the result with the new linear gradient. While the newly created selected, duplicate it once time and then hide the copy.
147. Reselect two newly created objects and go to the Object/ Blend/ Blend Options. Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Next go to the Object/ Blend/ Make (Ctrl +Alt +B).
148. Press (Ctrl +Shift +3) to show the object hidden in the previous step. Next fill the object with R=15, G=11, B=12 and replace the stroke color to R=35, G=31, B=32.
149. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a –27px Offset and then click OK. Next place the existing of the result with the radial gradient (Stroke =none). Duplicate this object once time and then hide the copy.
150. Now select and group (Ctrl +G) all objects created from beginning step 136 to this time (except the newly created object).
151. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 2px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the linear gradient. Finally send the result backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
152. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 3px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the radial gradient. Finally send the result backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
153. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 3px Offset and then click OK.
154. Next select the top anchor point of the result and move it 12px up. Finally replace the existing color of the result with the new radial gradient and then send the result backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
155. While the newly created object selected, go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a 3px Offset and then click OK.
156. Next select the top anchor point of the result and move it 8px up. Finally replace the existing color of the result with the new radial gradient and then send the result backward (Ctrl +Left Square Bracket).
157. Use the Pen tool (P) to create an object as shown in the first image. Next fill it with R=255, G=255, B=255. Finally add the Gaussian Blur effect for it (Effect/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur).
158. Press (Ctrl +Shift +3) to show the object hidden in the previous step. While the object selected, go to the Object/ Transform/ Scale…Check the Uniform and enter a 70 in the Scale box and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the linear gradient.
159. Now select and group (Ctrl +G) all objects created from beginning step 149 to this time (except the newly created object).
160. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -3px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the new linear gradient.
161. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -3px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the radial gradient.
162. Reselect the newly created object and then duplicate it (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) once time. Next replace the existing color of the result with the new radial gradient.
163. While the result selected, duplicate it once time. Next fill the copy with none and add a 0.5px Stroke (R=0, G=0, B=0).
164. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -10px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with R=0, G=255, B=255.
165. Reselect two newly created objects and go to the Object/ Blend/ Blend Options. Enter the data as shown below and then click OK. Next go to the Object/ Blend/ Make (Ctrl +Alt +B).
166. Pick the Ellipse tool (L) and then use this tool to create a 15px by 15px object. Next fill the object with the linear gradient.
167. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Transform/ Transform Each…Enter the data as shown below and then click Copy. Next replace the existing color of the result with the new linear gradient.
168. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -1.5px Offset and then click OK. Next replace the existing color of the result with the radial gradient.
169. Reselect the newly created object and duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. Replace the existing color of the result with the new radial gradient. Next lowered the Opacity of the result to 40%.
170. Reselect the newly created object and duplicate it once time. Replace the existing color of the result with the new radial gradient.
171. Reselect the newly created object and duplicate it once time. Replace the existing color of the result with the new radial gradient.
172. Reselect the newly created object and duplicate it once time. Next fill the copy with none and add a 0.5px Stroke (R=0, G=255, B=255). Finally open the Transparency palette (Window/ Transparency), select the Overlay the Blending Mode and enter a 100% in the Opacity.
173. While the result selected, go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -2.5px Offset and then click OK.
174. Continue create an object as shown in the first image. Next fill it with the linear gradient.
175. While the result selected, go to the Object/ Path/ Offset Path…Enter a -1px Offset and then click OK. Replace the existing color of the result with R=35, G=31, B=32. Next select two newly created objects and send them to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket). Finally select and group (Ctrl +G) all objects created from beginning step 166 to this time.
176. Place the newly created group to the correct position as shown below. Now show the ruler (Ctrl +R). Next drag the Vertical guide and then drag the Horizontal guide to correct positions as shown below.
177. Reselect the newly created group, pick the Rotate tool (R), hold down the Alt and then click on the Intersection point of two guides. Enter a 72 degrees Angle and then click Copy. Next press (Ctrl +D) three times to get the result as shown in the second image.
178. Select and group (Ctrl +G) all objects created from beginning step 158 to this time.
179. Select three newly created groups and then place it to the correct positions as shown below.
180. Select the group created in the step 159, pick the Rotate tool (R), hold down the Alt and then click on the Intersection point of two guides. Enter a 60 degrees Angle and then click OK.
181. Reselect three newly created groups, duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) them once time and then move the results to the correct positions as shown below.
182. Reselect six newly created groups and then double click on the Reflect tool from the Tool palette. Check the Vertical section and then click Copy. Next move the results to the correct positions as shown below.
183. Select four groups as shown in the first image and then send them to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
184. Rotate the group selected as shown below an angle of about -20 degrees.
185. Do the same as the previous step to rotate three remaining groups (but with different angles).
186. Select the group created in the step 135 and then duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it once time. Next move the copy 4px up and then send it to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
Step 07: Create the Heel Stop
187. Now pick the Pen tool (P) and then use this tool to create objects as shown in the images below.
188. Select the smaller red object and duplicate it once time and then hide the copy. Next reselect two red objects, open the Pathfinder palette (Window/ Pathfinder) and then click on the Exclude button.
189. Fill objects as shown in the images below.
190. Continue working with the Pen tool (P). Use this tool to create an object as shown below.
191. Press (Ctrl +Alt +3) to show the red object hidden in the previous step. While the object selected, hold down the Shift and click on the newly created object and then click on the Minus Back button from the Pathfinder palette.
192. Fill the result with the linear gradient.
193. Continue create objects and then fill them as shown in the images below.
194. Use Pen tool (P) to create four objects as shown below.

197. Reselect the newly created object and go to the Effect/ Stylize/ Round Corners…Enter a 3px Radius and then click OK. While the result selected, go to the Object/ Expand Appearance…
198. Use the Pen tool (P) to create an object as shown below. Next select two newly created objects, duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) them once time and then hide the copies (Ctrl +3).
199. Reselect two newly created objects and then click on the Intersect button from the Pathfinder palette.
200. Press (Ctrl +Alt +3) to show two objects hidden in the previous step. While two objects selected, click on the Minus Front button from the Pathfinder palette.
201. Fill objects as shown in the images below.
202. Continue use the Pen tool (P) to create objects and then set the data for them as shown in the images below.
203. Now reselect the object created in the step 187 and then send it to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
204. In the end your shape should look roughly like the image below. Now select and group (Ctrl +G) all objects created from beginning step 1 to this time.
Step 08: Create the Background
205. Use the Rectangle tool (M) to create a 800px by 730px object. Next fill this object with the linear gradient.
206. Place the newly created group to the correct position as shown below.
Step 09: Create the Shadows for the Wheels
207. Use the Ellipse tool (L) to create objects as shown below.
208. Fill the yellow ellipse with the radial gradient. Next add the Gaussian Blur effect (Effect/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur…) for the result.
209. Fill the red ellipse with R=0, G=0, B=0. Next add the Gaussian Blur effect (Effect/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur…) for the result.
210. Reselect two newly created objects, group them (Ctrl +G) and then send this group to back (Ctrl +Shift +Left Square Bracket).
211. While the newly created group selected, duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) it three times. Next place the copies to the correct positions as shown below.
